IT’S A DATE! DOC MARTIN, SEASON 8 COMING TO PUBLIC TELEVISION!
For eager U.S. public TV audiences, the wait is ending for the latest season of a viewer favorite!Boston (June 13, 2018) -- American Public Television (APT), the nation's longest operating distributor of television content for public TV stations, is pleased to confirm that Doc Martin, Season 8 will be available for local public television station syndication for broadcast beginning in January 2019.
APT reached an agreement with Acorn TV to offer the latest season of this popular series in September so public television stations may plan for their 2019 broadcast. (Acorn holds all the U.S. rights for Doc Martin, Season 8.) Catalog information, including a specific release date and brief descriptions of each episode, will be available this Fall at APTonline.org. Eric Luskin, APT vice president of Syndication and Premium Service, shared the news with the nation's local public television stations: "We're delighted to be able to announce this so you and your Doc Martin fans can plan for the future." According to the producers of Doc Martin, the series will end with Season 9.
APT introduced Doc Martin to American public television audiences in 2008. The popular UK series, features Martin Clunes as the Cornwall - based Dr. Martin Ellingham, the G.P. with a brusque bedside manner and a phobia of blood. Since first appearing on U.S. public television, the series has grown in popularity and is now licensed by a majority of local public television stations across the country.
